EXHIBITION | DAY DREAM | WE ARE NICE’ N EASY
MARCH 1, 2023 – MAY 1, 2023
Celebrating a post-hurricane Irma recovery following a six-month gallery hiatus; Method & Concept reopens with an exhibition introducing the south Florida creative duo known as, We Are Nice’n Easy.
Miami-based multidisciplinary creative partners, Allison Matherly (b. 1990, Georgia USA) and Jeffrey Noble (b.1987, Florida) present a site-specific exhibition playfully emphasizing the clichés of the South-Florida lifestyle and aesthetic. Commissioned by the gallery, a series of acrylic paintings that frame a skewed viewpoint suggesting disorientation are presented alongside large-scale wall-mounted sculpture and ironic, conceptual furniture. Reflective material and hyper-realistic painting invite the viewer into the visual presentation to be immersed by the Day Dream narrative. We Are Nice’n Easy questions universal perceptions of the ideal Miami lifestyle with subjects of romance, childhood innocence and the pursuit of self-actualization through the varying subtropical moods of the region.
Matherly, is a graduate of The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA with concentration in Installation and Sculpture, earning a BFA in 2012. Noble received his BFA in Painting from New Worlds School of the Arts in Miami, FL in 2013. Together as We Are Nice’n Easy, the two have a prolific public art portfolio of site-specific monumental sculptural installations and murals.
