EXHIBITION  | LAUREN REDDING @ THE STUDIO
MARCH 22, 2023 – MAY 22, 2023

Silverpoint artist, Lauren Redding (b. 1987, Naples, FL), commissioned for a 12-foot towering vertical composition for exhibition, was at a pivotal chapter in her life as she was in the midst of her first pregnancy. Newly commissioned work entitled, Carriers is showcased at Method & Concept with additional works for a solo exhibition @ The Studio.  Carriers, pairs a duality of two images that reinforce ideas about timeless human pursuits: looking back into history and looking forward toward progress and exploration, as the artist traced the parallel to her own forthcoming motherhood.   Expanding on ideas about human pursuit; Redding’s silverpoint drawings render a historical quality with direct references to monarchs and ancient Greek monoliths emphasizing the silverpoint medium as the focus; depicting the movement and force of modern man’s aptitude toward skyward exploration.  Redding’s body of work implies to the viewer that they may share common aims with the greatest seekers of our recorded history; also igniting our desires to dream far beyond our reach.

Lauren Redding studied history and political theory at Northwestern University and also received a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art.
