We Are Nice'n Easy
We Are Nice’n Easy is a collaboration of Miami-based artists Allison Matherly (b.1990 Georgia USA) and Jeffrey Noble (b.1987 Florida USA). Since their respective BFA studies at New World School of the Arts (Noble) and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston (Matherly), their collective body of work has focused on immersive mixed media installations and large-scale murals. Exhibitions and Commissions at Locust Projects, Spinello Projects, Art and Cultural Center of Hollywood, Young at Art Museum and The Bass Museum have garnered recognition, awards, and fellowships as well as a first-place prize for the South Florida Cultural Consortium Grant and a fellowship for an Artists in Residence in the Florida Everglades. We Are Nice’n Easy encapsulates the contemplative subtropical moods of South Florida using conventional painting methods as well as progressive materials and applications. References to the contemporary culture of self-help and interpersonal dependency infusing romantic tropes create a visually aesthetic platform for an intimate exchange with the viewer. A featured solo exhibition at Method & Concept in the spring of 2023, expands the duos reach to the Southwest Florida region; Infusing personal themes of childhood, romance and self-actualization, the artists manipulate a lens which questions the idyllic of the South Florida, Sub-Tropic lifestyle.
