Tom Phardel has spent the past 35 years creating, exhibiting, and teaching contemporary sculpture, working primarily with clay. He currently shows with some of Michigan’s finest visual arts museums and galleries, including The Detroit Institute of Arts, where his work lives in the permanent collection. Phardel’s work investigates large scale and dramatic architectural expressions. Phardel has taught and chaired the Ceramics Department at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies since 1988.
